Carol Blackhurst (web
site)
Carol grew
up on a cattle farm in remote Needmore, Arkansas. After receiving her
degree in Computer Science from Arkansas Tech University, Carol moved to the Washington,
D.C. suburbs where she wrote real estate assessment software for Fairfax
County Government. She relocated to Orlando, Florida in 1997 and
currently works for a world-wide corporation writing credit card transaction
software. Always
artistic, Carol discovered watercolors in 2005. Using her self-taught
technique, she focuses on pet portraits, but her work includes a vast array
of subjects painted from photographs. Her donated paintings are raffled
off each year at the Turkey Track Bluegrass Festival in Waldron, Arkansas to
raise money for cancer research in memory of her mother and a childhood
friend. She has also donated her paintings to the United Way,
Homeward Bound pet rescue organization and Florida Writer’s Association. Carol
is a member of the Florida Writer’s Association. She is writing a
series of science fiction/fantasy novels. |
